"Fear he is a liar, he will take your breath, stop you in your steps. Fear, he is a liar, he will rob your rest, steal your happiness..." Zach Williams

Are you afraid of something? Maybe fearful of what's around the corner or could it be a season you are in, without an end in sight? I've been there too. It can be immobilizing and it tends to alter our minds in freeze or halt mode and it can seem easier to quit and not surrender it all to Jesus.
"Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are beside me." Psalms 23:4
Instead of ignoring the fear, would you take a moment to recognize it? Write it in your journal. Is it irrational? Is it a real fear? Either way, write it down because when we write our thoughts down it can connect to something in our mind that might cause us to re-think what we are so fearful of.
Recently, I went through a season of fear and it wasn't fun. But you know what is fun? Living today, looking back at all that wrestling, the crying, the praying, and realizing it was a part of my journey to healing. I had to feel fear in order to recognize it. I needed to look to my Heavenly Father for Him to guide me into healing and to have the strength to call out the lies. I'm here today looking back THANKFUL I went through that, so when the old fears come roaring back (or sneaking in) I can call them for who they are: LIARS. The enemy wants us paralyzed. Unable to do the next step towards where God wants us.
The enemy is not creative. Remember that today. He will try the same trick over and over to try and trip us up. Don't fall for it! Take every thought captive. Examine it and claim the truth out loud.
2 Timothy 1:7 says, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline." (Another word for self-discipline is "sound mind".)
In replace of fear, He (our loving God!) has given us the power, love, and sound mind to stay alert and stay strong!
Take heart friends, if you're going through this season. It won't last forever- promise! What we go through now strengthens us for what's ahead. NEWS FLASH: Life isn't easy and simple and without problems. But our strength can be placed in the Lord and what He says about us - all good things- so we can persevere until the end of our days.
