"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us." - A.W. Tozer
Last weekend I attended the IF Gathering with a few friends, hosted at a church in a nearby town. It was so good and rich and everything I really needed at this moment in my life. I realize every time I attend their yearly live gathering (live streamed from Texas), I walk away with my soul full of the richness of who God is.
One of the phrases I heard God speak to my heart and mind was that I needed to be content with Him. Just Him. If God is who He says He is, that we - you and I - really do need to be content with Him. Here are a few truths about who God is:
God is most loving. 1 John 4:8-10
God is abounding in goodness. Psalm 31:19, Psalm 52:1
God is everywhere. Psalm 139
God is our shepherd. Genesis 49:24
God is all knowing. 1 John 3:20
God rewards those who seek Him. Hebrews 11: 6
God is without limit. 1 Kings 8:27
(More of these truths found on CARM.org)
Just to name a few! This is the God we serve. If you are like me, humanly imperfect and in need of a Savior, than you and I are incredibly blessed because we get to worship a real, powerful and mighty God that will pour His love and peace and favor upon us. Because He loves us. You. Me. Them.
He is real. So are we.
Friends, lean in to Him. Start being content where you are, right now and never forget our need for Him. Like Tozer said in the above quote, what you think about God means a lot about who you are.
Hello friends, I'm joy. ..
I love sharing my life with you. I enjoy being vulnerable and real because it's then that I hear, "you too?". I hope reading the words from my heart encourages you. We're in this together, friends, so grab your coffee or tea and stick around!
