On Sunday our pastor talked about repenting. Like being a normal human, I thought to myself, "Well, I sure don't need that today". Boy was I wrong. And humbled. Towards the end of his talk he mentioned there may be a time we are choosing to sit and not do anything - disobeying- and even going backwards a few steps. It could be out of fear or the unwillingness to have faith and trust that God knows what is next for us.
I knew at that moment he spoke that for me. I have been dragging my feet with my business- The Joy Box Company- dragging my feet out of fear and lack of faith and at times I believe I even plugged my ears so I couldn't hear the urging voice of those around me or the silent pleas. I just didn't think I had "it" to be a business owner. I failed to remember that I have a big big God that has chosen me for this task, molded me for it, every single day and every single year. He's not going to put something on my plate that I can't do or I can't dig a little further in the faith department. It's not supposed to be easy, I get that now.
But maybe some where along the way I thought it was going to be. No, I don't think it's supposed to be. Not because God is cruel, it's because He is kind and SO good to us. He knew I needed to grow. I needed to be challenged so that when I quit trying on my own I knew the only way to survive or go further would be to lay it all at His feet and surrender my control. So, I repented and I am so grateful I serve a grace filled God. I am changed.
Are you holding onto something that you may need to let go of? Let go and let God - may sound cheesy - but for me IT'S TRUE.
Galatians 6:4 says, "Let everyone be devoted to fulfill the work God has given them to do with excellence, and their joy will be in doing what's right and being themselves, and not in being affirmed by others."
