Have you ever shared a part of your story to a friend? Like a testimony. Sharing a bit of what you have gone through in your life, storms and such. Storms where you hope to see a clearing up ahead but there hasn't been one. I have been in a storm or two and it's so easy to hide! There was a recent storm that came by us and it stayed for quite some time. After running and a lot of crying and saying, "STOP!" I knew I had to give in. So I faced that storm, with the Lord beside me and in front of me. And I let go and I trusted. Oh Lord, let me give up quicker next time that storm comes a rollin' through!

I think we ought to share more. I think we ought to raise our hand more and say, "I'll share a little about myself." It's not selfishness to talk about ourselves as we share our story to a crowd (of one or 12). We aren't alone. We have all heard that quoted time and again. It's true, someone else has to be going through something similar as us.

Let's quit thinking it's all about us, let's be vulnerable and open up to that stranger nearby or that friend that keeps on wanting to take us out for coffee. Let's gather round and put our arms on each others shoulders, take each others hand and say, "Me too." It's then, it's during that moment of our eyes widening and our heart softening that we realize we aren't alone in this world. That we are meant for relationships with others.
Next time that we have a moment of vulnerability, say something about yourself. Let that person in. Share your story. I know I will, because running and crying and hiding are a lot more work!
Luke 6:31 "Do to others as you would have them do to you."
Hello friends, I'm joy. ..
I love sharing my life with you. I enjoy being vulnerable and real because it's then that I hear, "you too?". I hope reading the words from my heart encourages you. We're in this together, friends, so grab your coffee or tea and stick around!
